TALBOT TROUT FARM  is a haven of tranquillity and peace in between the rolling hills of the South African Highveld, a comfortable two-and-a-half-hour drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria. The popular village of Dullstroom with a selection of unique shops, restaurants and art galleries is a 45-minute picturesque drive from our beautiful property. This exclusive nature and wildlife retreat covers a variety of ecosystems, private trout dams, farm animals and free-roaming game as zebra, ostriches, blesbok, nyala and reebok can be seen grazing on the hills surrounding our cottages. 

With an aura of calmness and beautiful nature, it is the ideal place to relax, fish in the dams and enjoy leisurely hikes or take an exciting ride on your mountain bike.

Currently, we have two cosy cottages accommodating up to ten guests overlooking a natural stream and our trout dams. Fly-fishers can full fill their passion in enjoying a good fight with our big rainbow trout. The garden of the cottages is fully fenced in and allows you to bring a dog along.  

AGAPANTHUS COTTAGE  is nestled in a lush, private garden - perfect for a picnic while enjoying the lazy afternoon sun with birdsong filling the garden. Fully equipped to ensure a comfortable stay for you and your family. The cottage contains two separate en-suite bedrooms with queen-size beds, a cosy and comfortable lounge with a fireplace and kitchenette. Solar power with gas-fridge stove and gas geyser. Please note that our eco-friendly solar system does not allow for electrical appliances. Weber and gas braais are available for you to use. 

PROTEA COTTAGE, built on the water's edge of one of our well-stocked dams with two double bedrooms, sofa beds and a comfortable spacious lounge with a double-sided fireplace also has a large patio where you can enjoy a sundowner while lighting the fire for your evening braai. This cottage is ideally suited to two couples and two children but can sleep six adults. When rented the cottage has exclusive fishing rights to the dam in front. The cottage electricity is by way of solar power with 220 Volt –although it does not allow for electrical appliances such as hair dryers and toasters. 

ROSE COTTAGE is set in an enormous garden amongst farm animals grazing peacefully. The spacious house boasts five comfortable bedrooms sleeping up to 12 adults and children, two bathrooms each with a separate bath and shower, a family-sized lounge and dining area with a crackling fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and a stoep facing the rolling hills of the Highveld. There is a secluded boma with a braai area to enjoy bonfire evenings under the African sky. This self-catering venue is ideal to host large families and groups of friends looking to spend a fabulous time together. 

KIEPERSOL COTTAGE (coming soon) Ideal for a family holiday or group of fly fishers, only a cast away from three of our beautiful trout dams. Kiepersol Cottage accommodates up to 10 adults and 2 children in four bedrooms and three bathrooms, a comfortable lounge and dining area with fireplace, a large terrace with braai facilities and a fully equipped kitchen. The fully fenced-in garden amongst the rolling hills, natural streams and ancient rock formations will allow for a care-free time with family, friends and your pets. 

Our cottages are supplied with quality bedding, towels, coffee, tea and guest amenities as well as a welcoming bundle of firewood.
